About Our Activities
Camp activities are supposed to be FUN. Parents can be assured that our activities are also safe, wholesome and constructive.
Our camp program is designed so that campers experience something new everyday!
Since Camp Dixie is built around the lake, it is only natural that the campers enjoy swimming, diving, canoeing, and kayaking. Campers can develop their sharpshooter skills in archery and riflery or create something unique in arts and crafts. For those who love the world of theater, there are weekly skits and plays. Campers may also choose to take trampoline, aerobics, team sports, outdoor living skills, and nature lore. Because campers’ interests and capabilities vary so greatly, a variety of activities are offered; many are available at Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced Levels.
With a list of over 30 activities to choose from there is something for everyone whether you like hiking through the woods, swimming, or hitting a home run! With so many activities planned each day, you will have fun from sun up to sun down.

Awards
Each week at council fire, campers eagerly look forward to receiving their awards.Over the years, campers have taken great pride in their accomplishments because they have worked very hard for the various awards knowing the importance of each award and what the award represents.
Award programs include:
1. Honor awards
2. Activity awards & Special awards
3. Novelty awards.
Honor Awards:
The Honor Awards are our most cherished awards. The campers who receive a Honor Award exemplify the qualities of our seven principles through their daily living. Honor cabins are announced at the end of each day with the weekly winners receiving a banner to display on the front of their cabin.
Activity & Special Awards:
The Activity Awards are presented to the children who have strived to improve their skills and have passed certain requirements in the various activities. The activity counselors may also wish to recognize someone for being the most helpful or the most improved.
Novelty Awards:
Novelty awards are given when something humorous has happened in a particular activity for example – – in tennis the “Out of the Park” award for hitting the most balls over the fence instead of the net.
